Pissed Consumer Interviews ?

So we bought a brand new Cub Cadet system in May, 2017 from Tractor Supply in Merrimack, NH. Wife and I are both over 60 and pushing lawnmowers and shoveling snow are just not in the cards for us any more. Initially, things were fine, but after a couple dry weeks I went to mow the lawn and immediately was covered with dust and lawnclippings, down my back, in my face, eyes....it took a few days but found that the cover for the lawn bagger was NOT fitted properly, and the molded plastic cover was allowing debris to blow directly at me. After several phone calls to Cub Cadet (MTD) I was connected with Bob Schuck, who is supposedly a manager.....after not being able to mow our yard for most of the 2017 season, we finally received the replacement top cover, but now is has already snowed once.....so obviously will not know if the cover actually solves the problem or not until next year (20180 So NOW, we are in December and the first snow storm has arrived....we took painful stepps to assure every aspect of the snowblower assembly was correctly installed.....but none of that matter....less than 1/2 way through the storm the blower/auger stopped rotating....nothing is broken, nothing has popped out of place or off the pulleys.... Well guess what.....the stupid machine designers apparently went with the cheapest, weakest main drive belt they could find, and it is NOT heavy enough to handle the driving of the augers once they get loaded with snow.....so the only way to use it is to cut 6" or less wide paths through the 4" of fluffy snow, while moving the tractor at less than a snail's pace..... I have already sent more than a couple emails to Bob Schuck, at Cub Cadet, as well as talking to the Tractor Supply store manager in Merrimack (Bryan), but neither of them has had the courtesy to call me back.......... This is NOT over......I did NOT spend nearly $4000.00 for a useless paperweight...........
Purchased the XT-3 in December, 2016. Paid over $5000 for the mower. have replaced the mower belts 5 times so far this year. get small twigs - 1/8" diameter get caught up into the pulley. Dealer and the Tech Dept told me not to mow over branches and twigs. Rake the yard. We have 4 acres - rake it every week? Per the Tech Dept - the mower was only designed to cut grass - not handle small twigs/ branches. Unfortunately we have lots of trees - sounds like i will need to trade this unit. Belt costs of $300+ per year are not acceptable. Plus add on that the spring to move to loosen the tension has about 100 lbs of tension on it. I'm not a small person but i have to use several different tools to get this spring to move for belt installation. Almost a safety hazard unless you take the unit to the dealer to replace the belts. The mower has a design flaw. Appears that it needs some kind of guard to keep random things from getting into the pulleys. I bought the mower because we have a lot of mowing to do. We ran a small John D tractor for 4 years before I bought this. We never had a problem with mower belts breaking on the JD unit. It was not a commercial unit - a GL 120. Don't buy Cub Cadet - poor mechanical design and no support for technical issues.

We had mirrors problems. Even the one that was one day old would not work so they replaced it. Regret purchase and lies from owner who claims it was good product.

My PTO clutch went bad. I ordered one from the Cub Cadet website ($319.00) along with a new bolt ($8.00). The new bolt was too big to fit even though the part number matches their exploding diagram, so I used the old bolt. The new clutch performed well the first day....

Cub Cadet - Paid in error

We paid cub cadet 300.00 September 2018 in error. The payment should have been returned in October per their own policy. We are still waiting for our money to be returned. My husband calls weekly, excuses never end, I believe we are simply out the money! {{Redacted}}
