Defective discharge chute.

AI Highlights
  • - Discharge chute came apart after less than 80 hours of use.
  • - I was told it has a 30-day warranty and three-year homeowner coverage, price about $2600.

In less than 80 hours of use. The discharge chute came apart.

I called cub cadet three times. I was told it had a thirty day warranty. I was as told at Tractor supply when I purchased it. As a homeowner it was covered for three years.

It is less than two years old.

A wasted 2600 dollars. I will never buy another.

  • - Purchased a battery-powered tractor; after 1 year it died and won't charge, returned for repair 5 weeks ago, seeking full refund of $3,814.94.

We purchased an battery powered lithium- ion tractor from Jerrys Engine Repair in Berwick, Pa on 4-23-24 used the tractor for 1 year and now it just died will not take a charge returned it 5 weeks ago for repair got nothing but a run around from the dealer. We tried calling customer service but could not get through to your company to file a claim.

We need some answers from the rep in this area. We have been without a lawn mower for weeks had to borrow one. I have never had to deal with such unprofessional people like we are dealing with right now the dealer and Cub Cadet as a company.

The dealer told us this tractor has a 5 year warranty yah right all we want is a full refund $3814.94 this company. I would never recommend this company or their products simply junk !!!

Good luck cub cadet doesn’t care about their customers

Original review Jul 22, 2025

I bought my brand new cub cadet riding lawnmower in August of last year within a month I had to replace the battery through Home Depot , and then this year I replace the battery again just to have a technician say that those batteries are junk. A certified repair company for cub cadet said that they have 80batteries already this year that were bad.

Loss:

Pros:
  • Good mower so far

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Don’t buy cub cadet batteries, thirty day warranty and after a year nothing, not enough cold Cranking amps, and the charging system is way under rated

This company is ridiculous, got hold of an idiot from some country that was barely understandable. She was inept, rude ,condescending, belligerent. I bought a $3500.00 ZERO TURN. And no one to service

AI Highlights
  • - Poor service and no fix for a unit bought 2 months ago.
  • - Unclear, repetitive model/serial requests and long wait, seeking return or lemon-law action.

Lousy, terrible, no service whatsoever. Was told to call Kohler.

It wasn't an engine problem, I kept getting idiotic responses from som moron that had a terrible accent. Unable to communicate. I was told to repeat the model and serial number 4 times. These people are stupid.

I called the service companies referred to me they said they would not service the equipment. They lose money on warranty work. And they take care of their customers. One service company said it would take 4 to 6 weeks to even get it in because they also service ice the people who bought from them.

I bought this unit 2 months ago. And can't get it fixed. Will you please. Allow me to return this piece of garbage to tractor supply.

Because I cannot get service. If you don't I will file suit under the lemon law. And drag your *** thru court. As well as put it on social media a hundredtimes a day.

My phone number is 314-707-**** please call by Friday the 20th of June. If not I will file suit.and make formal complaint to the Attorney general.

Horrendous communication

AI Highlights
  • - Service advisory on mulch kit; incident number given.
  • - The 877 line was hard to hear; I hung up with no answers.

Started with Chat and Violet said there was a service advisory on the mulch kit. She gave an incident number and said to call the 877 number.

Whoever answered was hard to hear with all the others speaking it whatever location they are located. Gave my incident number and asked if I wanted an owners manual. I said no I was told there is a service advisory on the mulch kit.

She then said so you need help finding your model number. I hung up with no answers to the issue.

User's recommendation: Find a dealer who knows about service advisory’s

Brand new mower bought at end of last mowing season. Time to change oil and at my age, 78, with 3 heart attacks and severe artritis, I could not get the oil plug loose. It is cemented in with Loctite.

AI Highlights
  • - I won't buy Cub Cadet after three in two years.
  • - They fail to start.
  • - Oil changes and other tasks are hard for older users.
  • - Kobota or Skag are recommended.

This will be the last Cub Cadet I will buy. I bought 3 in 2 years.

One for me, one my parents (in 90s) and a third for daughter. None of the damn things work. They fail to start, the systems (like oil change) are too difficult for older people. Fire the fools that make this chore so difficlut because of the *** engineering.Buy a Kobota or Skag.

CC is a piece of crap. Don't buy

Stolen Taxes

AI Highlights
  • - Mower refunded, but $262.50 in taxes were not refunded.
  • - No supervisor was available; call back in 48 hours.

After 4 days my mower caught fire, and was given a refund on the mower but did not get the $262.50 in taxes. I called club cadet, and they told me that they do not refund the taxes.

I ask why, and they could not tell me why. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told none were available and that I could call back in 48 hours to speak to one. How stupid do they think people are that they would get a different result. So I lost $262.50 on a mower that caught fire and taxes on something they do not have to pay taxes on.

I will never buy or recommend a product from MTD again. They also make craftsmen, troy built, Murry

Engine problems less than a year after purchase

AI Highlights
  • - Bought a ZT1 zero-turn mower.
  • - Stored in a heated barn over winter; now barely starts and blows smoke.
  • - Runs only with the choke.

Bought a ZT1 zero turn mower. Used less than a year, stored in heated barn over winter, barely starts now and blows smoke like crazy.

Only runs with the choke on and no service center within hours of me.

Based on the other reviews, I was lucky I got to mow the yard at least once before needing to purchase a new machine. Cub Cadet should just cut their losses and close.

  • - A 2006 Cub Cadet lasted 19 years before my 2025 Cub Cadet 46-inch cut, and I may not refer friends due to the missing hour meter.

I recently purchased a 2025 Cub Cadet 46-inch cut; I had a 2006 Cub Cadet that has served me well for 19 years. If I was not pleased with the former mower, I would have chosen another manufacturer.

My complaint is that an hour meter is not on the unit— for the price of these machines, I would think that you could include one on the unit; now I must buy one for $45 and install it myself.

Many reviews online also express consumer dissatisfaction with the company omitting the hour meter. I will be reluctant to refer friends to purchase a Cub Cadet based upon your decision to omit the hour meter.

Bad battery purchased 06/20/2024 23 hours of service.

AI Highlights
  • - The $86 AGM battery has only a 90-day warranty.
  • - Warranty and dealer support are unsatisfactory; I may seek a refund on the $385 extended warranty.

And I have to purchase a $86.00 dollar battery thats only going to have a 90 day warranty I mean really thats not good at all for a agm battery I mean its not a standard leaded battery and I can purchase 2 of the standard batteries so what good is a warranty on the mower and the extended warranty if you cant get anyone to call you back from the dealer and seems the battery should have a better warranty. I had a craftsman yts3000 for 14 years and purchased 2 batteries other than the one that came with it. Cub cadet Xt1 lt46 has not been up to par but I will be checking on getting a refund for that extended warranty $385.00.

Can clear snow faster by hand than with Cub Cadet snow blower

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We've had this 24-inch, 2-stage, 208cc snow blower for a few years now. It had a good rating by Consumer Reports.

From the first day, there were issues. Poor assembly left the chute extremely hard to control. It was difficult to start even when meticulously following directions. It bogged down in medium weight snow - forget about doing plow piles.

What a piece of crap! Can't wait to get rid of it.

The only problem is that we're retired; snow blowers are very expensive. Maybe next year.

User's recommendation: Don't even think of buying Cub Cadet! A waste of money!
