Cub Cadet Xt1 Lawn Tractor Review from Plainsboro, New Jersey
Cub Cadet Xt1 Lawn Tractor Review from Plainsboro, New Jersey - Image 2

I won an XT1 Cub Cadet in a raffle and paid NY state tax upon delivery from ECK in Syracuse NY. ECK is a reasonable business except the Cub Cadet XT 1 I won developed splits on the top of the seat (see picture).I have owned it 7 day less than a year.

I called Cub Cadet customer (not)service and they stated that the seat was not covered under warranty as per written warranty which includes normal wear and tear items like tires. Seats are included except I haven't abused the seat and the warranty in my view is poor regarding the seats. I was offered a 25% discount to replace the seat for in the range of 150$ American. Woopty do!

I won't have any other products made by MTD/ or Cub Cadet again ever! Rick Gillette Syracuse NY.

LTX 1045 / 110HRs #1 - Belt / Deck Pully system Belts blow apart usually twice a year. Pully on mower deck does not sit aligned to tractor pully. Dealer said it is correct? #2 - Deck blade spindles There are NO places to grease. Sealed bearings. Unfortunately they do not stay sealed forever (in my case 2 years / 80 HRS or so). Have had to replace them all. #3 - Electrical connections to head lamps. Just driving around i see people cutting the lawn with these tractors. With one head light on. Mine as well. They use crimp on connectors and do not maintain a proper connection. #4 - Drive belt blew apart. Impossible to get to. Took to the dealer for that one. And it was still under warrenty. #5 - BLEW UP YESTERDAY!!!!!! 110 HRS I STRONGLY SUGGEST STAYING AWAY FROM ANY AND ALL MTD MADE PRODUCTS!!! I am going GREEN from here on out. Period! I am disabled (MS) and spent $1800 on this thing. Its a Cub Cadet after all (unfortunately realize now that it is MTD JUNK) and was impressed with the Kohler power plant (unfortunately it blew up after 110 HRS). SO the purchase that i hoped would last a LONG LONG time (filters and oil changed yearly and when the light came on to do so), removing the stress of having to do maintenance on an obsolete mower), now sits blown up and basically JUNK!

Poor product

My 2016 Cub Cadet zero turn mower has only 55 hours on it and there has already been a broken pulley. The Cub Cadet repair person said there is no way the part was defective. But I saw the nick in the pulley myself and their is no way anything could have gotten up under the mower to damage it. My service was poor when having this replaced. A mower with 55 hours on it should not need a new pulley. I am very disappointed with this product. I have had much better service with my John Deere mower I have used since 1993. I will be replacing my Cub Cadet with a John Deere.

I, too made the mistake a number of years ago and instead of buying another John Deere, bought a Sears. Nothing but problems and little, to no adequate customer service or repairs.

I finally put a sign on it and parked it out front to sell, which I did rather quickly. I then wandered over to my local JD dealer and bought another JD. I now have three of them in varying sizes. Great machines and the local dealer is fantastic.

I always recommend now to buy from a local dealer instead of one of the big box stores that also sell them. This is how we learn.

Lt1050 BUYER BEWARE!

purchased this 1050 from home depot in 2013. started breaking deck belts starting from first season.taking to dealer once a year to get belt replaced because problem has never been fixed under original warranty! i believe i took to dealer twice one season for broken deck belt.the yahoos at dealership give you lies like{you are mowing to low}. told them how can i mow to low when i have it on highest setting which is 11. that is a whole other story i will not get into right now! i was also told i was not cleaning the deck out after mowing. I told them that was funny because I used to have a old lawn chief from western auto that never had to be cleaned out and did not break belts? we had it for 13 years without a problem and it cost about a third of what this junker cost! you would think if u pay over 2000 $ for a mower u would get dependability. I WAS WRONG ! BUYER BEWARE!!!

Cub Cadet is junk

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Bought a new cub cadet riding mower (with fabricated deck) and also a couple of push mowers and a trailer from the cub cadet dealer on Stone Drive in Kingsport. We have spend a lot of money there and should be considered "very good customers." We have had nothing but problems with the new "top of the line" mower.

It has taken weeks (yes, weeks!!) to get repairs done. The dealership has no sense of customer service whatsoever. They are more than happy to inform you that they "can only do what cub cadet authorizes." Apparently the warranty is worthless. They even had the nerve to suggest the recurrent problems with our mowing deck was "because we were mowing over rough terrain".

I guess it never occurred to them that this is the same yard I have been mowing for 16 years now and I've never had problems with a mower deck before this Cub cadet. I wouldn't buy an ice cube from them if I was on my way to ***.

Stay away from Cub Cadet and make sure you stay away from this dealership. If this is how they treat their "good customers", I can only imagine how they treat anyone else!!

*** PRODUCT

Will NEVER recommend Cub Cadet to anyone! bought a LTX 1050 around the same time. Today it has 50 hours on it . Thats because its always broken. Gotta fix something almost everytime its used. I too was told they dont back their product from Home Depot. Well, to me, this means you shouldnt allow your name to go on the product! ITS YOUR PRODUCT, YOUR NAME IS ON IT, YOU GOT MY $2000. WE have a problem. If your offices were local, Id get mower working AGAIN! With a quickness ( because they dont run long before breaking) jump on it and drive it through the window.

Cub Cadet LTX 1045 - Buy a BAD BOY Instead!

I agree with you! I bought a 2010 Cub Cadet LTX 1045 in 2011 and it has been nothing but a pain in the *** First time mowing the belt popped off, then 3 more times before breaking the belt. I'm on belt number 8 now and keep going. I've had the supposed "warranty service" done to the mower at 20 hours but the Authorized Repair Facility claims there was nothing wrong. Put a new spindle and belt on it and said it was done. about 3 cuts later the same thing: belt keeps coming off. Went to a non authorized dealer and took a look at it up on the lift and could visually tell that the pulleys are completely misaligned. Obvious Cub Cadet factory didn't follow the directions or just have a lousy Engineering Department that can't figure out how to align the pulleys. Have replaced 5 spindles now. Just recently the carburetor shut off valve stopped working. Prices for the shut off valve run $90 - $150, so I put an inline manual shut off valve and filter that ran me less than $10. Easy fix - and cheapest maintenance I've had to do on this thing. After this season I'm going to be selling this P.O.S. and buy a BAD BOY zero turn mower. The are American Made and stand by their product. Several friends highly recommend them. Good luck with the Cub Cadet.

Cub Cadet BC 210 Brush Cutter

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Two years ago I purchased a Cub Cadet Brush Cutter BC210. The first summer it worked but was difficult to start and keep running.

the second summer it broke down the first time out, took it for service the first of May and after to authorized Cub Cadet repair shops looking at the devise and reporting it couldn't be repaired, Cub Cadet finally refunded my money in September.

I thought I would give the Cub Cadet BC210 another chance. Big mistake. On the fourth use it quit working.

Took it in to an authorized Cub Cadet repair shop and explained to the employee it wasn't getting gas. His response was, sounds like the carburetor which Cub Cadet does not warranty. So know I own an almost brand new Cub Cadet brush cutter that does not work.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Cub Cadet products. Bought at Tractor Supply Co.

Cub Cadet Trimmer Model SS418

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I brought a model SS418 about three years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. Good money wasted.

The first years ran great second year hard starting, third years would not run at all put it in the shop. New Carbrator. Ran for few times failed to start and ran at all. Put it back in the shop this year, guess what very low compression.

when I brought this trimmer I was under the impression that I had trimmer that would last for years. Guess that was wrong. this unit was built in Mexico. some dealer do not like it at all.

I would not recommend this thing to my worst person that I know.

When you pay for an item that always has had a great name you think that you can't depend on it, this wasn't true. Very up setting.

54" ZTR Cub Cadet 24hp 7000 Kohler engine (RZTL L Series)

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

3.9 hours use ... (read 3 point 9 hours) mower stalled never to start again. Bought the unit in April 2016 from Tractor Supply and they assured me Cub Cadet Warranty servers were in the area.

Note. If you do not buy Cub Cadet from a dealer, that dealer does NOT have to honor warranty service.

Found a dealer, but put on a 30 day wait list. After describing stall/non start problem the service center told me it was likely carburetor issues AND then went on to inform me that anything related to fuel flow problems was NOT covered under warranty.

One has to love rip off companies that produce wonderful web sites/ads but could care less about providing the customer a functional product.

I bought a brand new cub cadet xt1 42" after my forth time cutting my lawn the battery went dead and a float pin in the carburater got stuck and it leaked a half tank of gass on my garage floor. When i called customer service they said the battery is only warrantied for 30 days and anything to do with the gas is not warrantied either. $1500 for this thing brand new and only months after buying it it's a peace of junk. Thanks for the awesome support of your product cub cadet. NOT!!!!
